Kyoto University has a brand new statue to encourage soon-to-be college students: Final Fantasy VII‘s Sephiroth. The campus is legendary for its bust of “Professor Orita.” The faculty adjustments its picture yearly throughout entrance examination season. The present statue is of Sephiroth. In Japan, most excessive colleges and schools have entrance exams to decide potential college students’ eligibility. During Kyoto University’s entrance examination season, present college students erect statues and messages to encourage these entrants. The faculty’s custom comes from the unique statue of Hikoichi Orita, the founding father of one of many predecessors of Kyoto University.
