Samsung Wear OS event scheduled for MWC 2021

One of the most important surprises of 2021 to date is the announcement that Samsung and Google are teaming up to tackle the smartwatch trade king: Apple. Samsung and Google (and Google’s newly acquired Fitbit) will work collectively to make Google’s Wear OS platform a greater competitor to Apple’s watchOS.

While we’ve heard a bit from Google on this partnership, we haven’t heard a lot from Samsung. That will change on June 28 when Samsung holds a smartwatch-centered event at Mobile World Congress.

According to the official listing, the Samsung event will function information on the “Galaxy ecosystem” in addition to a “new watch experience.” Samsung claims that it’s “reimagining smartwatches,” leaving little doubt as to the subject material for the majority of the event.

This would be the first in-depth examination of the Samsung Wear OS expertise from Samsung itself. While it’s unlikely Sammy would debut any new Galaxy Watch {hardware} in the course of the digital event, it’s a risk. However, it’s not unreasonable to imagine we’d truly get a glimpse at what the brand new Wear OS appears to be like like.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 will seemingly run the brand new Wear OS. They would be the first non-Tizen smartwatches from the corporate in years.
