During at present’s Summer Game Fest kickoff present, fresh-faced indie developer Wishfully and SteamWorld Quest writer Thunderful joined Geoff Keighley to indicate off their subsequent recreation, Planet of Lana, which seems completely pleasant.

Planet of Lana is a “cinematic puzzle adventure game” that follows a younger lady and her vaguely cat-like companion as they traverse a world as beautiful as it’s harmful. My preliminary impression is that I’d like to play this recreation on a breezy Saturday morning in spring, ideally close to an open window with a few canine on my lap and an enormous iced tea in arm’s attain. And it doesn’t harm that the sport’s panoramic vistas are stunning sufficient to border.

This first have a look at Planet of Lana showcased a recreation that seems very very like a extra colourful Limbo or Inside, with side-scrolling exploration that focuses on strategic puzzle-solving over full-on, dramatic fight. The participant travels via quite a lot of beautiful environments, from lush forests to arid deserts, and comes into contact with creatures each organic and artificial. Even at its most intense, Planet of Lana looks as if a pleasant, chill, dare I say downright healthful expertise. Lord is aware of we want extra of these.

“A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature and animal has now become something else entirely,” the sport’s official website reads, offering some extra context to the journey awaiting gamers. “The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war. This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet –and the journey to keep it that way.”

Planet of Lana is deliberate for launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam someday in 2022.
