Update: Sony has now confirmed to Gamingskillz that Days Gone will arrive for PC in Spring.“I think a few things changed,” Ryan replied when requested why the corporate had modified its tack on releasing exclusives for PC. “We discover ourselves now in early 2021 with our improvement studios and the video games that they make in higher form than they’ve ever been earlier than. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some fantastic, nice video games.
“There’s a possibility to expose these nice video games to a wider viewers and recognise the economics of sport improvement, which aren’t at all times simple. The value of creating video games goes up with every cycle, because the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of creating it out there to non-console house owners has grown. So it’s a reasonably simple choice for us to make.”
This announcement follows within the footsteps of Horizon Zero Dawn, which Sony announced for and released for PC in 2020. Ryan explains that SIE assessed the response to that port in making the choice to launch extra ports, explaining that PC gamers “preferred it and so they purchased it”, and that there was “no huge adversarial response” from PlayStation players to the game heading off of consoles. “We will proceed to take mission steps on this course,” Ryan added.

There was, in fact, extra proof that Sony needed to deliver extra of its first-party lineup to PC, as in Sony’s 2020 corporate report, it talked about it’ll “discover increasing our 1st celebration titles to the PC platform, so as to promote additional development in our profitability.”
